Welcome to our local history project!

An oral history & technology project created by the students of BGHS

Bowling Green High School's Missouri History class provides students an introduction to the
Arched bridge located in Frankford, Missouri.(http://www.pikecountytourism.com/byways.htm)
history of Missouri emphasizing economic, political and social growth.

In this wiki project, we will be focusing on the local history of the Pike County/Bowling Green R-I school district and surrounding areas. The people, places & events presented here may not necessarily be known outside of our little neck of the woods, but who cares? They still exercised a significant influence in shaping our local communities. There is a wealth of material, as well as a rich heritage, that is directly tied to understanding who we are as a community today.

The stories and articles you read here have all been (or will be) created by Matthew Easley's BGHS Missouri History students. This project not only allow students to become familiar with local history, but also instills in them a sense of ownership. By preserving our local history, students are becoming stewards of their own cultural past -- preserving it for current & future generations!
